Comments, Feedback & Submissions

Just as the page name says, this information is for readers who want to send me a message or submit blight pictures and information that they would like to have posted to the Northampton Blight blog.

I will also consider adding others as authors so that they can post things themselves. Convince me that you are not a spammer or other crackpot and are simply as interested in ending blight in Northampton as much as I am. Send complete contact information about yourself if interested in becoming an author.

The email address for all comments, feedback, submissions and author requests to be sent directly to me and not as a published comment is northamptonblight@gmail.com.

Thanks for reading.

    I have to ask,
You took the time to wander around and take pictures of garbage in bushes, and graffitti on walls.
You took the time to upload these picture on your computer.
you then took the time and money to set this site up.

you want to stop urban blight in Northampton? step up to the plate, the amount of time you are spending “spreading awareness” could be better used going down getting some trashbags or clippers and just getting it done… better yet, you have already set up this site, organize a public cleaning of the Nagle walk way, they did that on the Easthampton bike path, my brother helped organize it. DIY is a great way to go

Why not change it to “Northampton Blight and Waste”?

For example, why is the parking commissioner a full-time, salaried and benefit job of a city employee?

Do we need a DPW or can those same services be better performed (and cheaper) by outsourcing to local companies?

Does the City really need to spend $650k for a new telephone system?

Why do downtown business owners feel the need to start a BID when the City should be providing those services out of the standard taxpayer monies?

    Etc. etc.

I think it’s great that you are shedding some light on this situation through this blog. The DPW, supported by the taxpayers of Northampton should be cleaning the streets,”Alan”, and the homeless bums should be put to work cleaning it up too. The police, who probably could care less, should enforce littering laws and vandalism laws that are in place and prosecute those that continue to trash the city.

My son and husband one day found a hyperdermic needle in the bathroom at Starbucks in Noho, told the manager on duty about it and was told it was probably someone who was targeting corporations because it had happend more than once. I guess that’s prehaps the kind of people you have to go up against to have a clean city.
